A God Who Loves You!

Did you know that you have a God who loves you?  Did you know that you are the most precious thing He ever created?  The Song of Songs in the Bible tells us just how much we mean to Him and how He longs to fill our lives with more of Him.
I was reading recently in this book, the Song of Songs (also known for it's author Solomon and often called the Songs of Solomon).  In a recent Bible Study, we women were reminded to let God tend to us.  To let Him show us just how much He loves us.  He is love - I John 4:7&8.  We all need to take the time to let God minister to our broken and beat up hearts before we try to get out there and minister His love to others.  Doesn't that make sense?  Sometimes we're in such a state of hurt that ministering to others is the last thing we fell capable of doing.  And that's ok.  He's more than able to tend to us while we fall apart with Him.

Well, I began reading in the Song of Songs about the Lover and His Beloved.  Something hit me in chapter 2.  He really is calling us to come away with Him to a quiet place so He can lavish His love on us.  This is a private occurance, not a corporate one.  In other words, if your deepest moments with God are on a Sunday morning with the rest of the congregation at church during worship - you are missing out!  Multiple times in the Song of Solomon the Lover (representing Christ) is calling His Beloved (each individual Christian) to come away with Him.  Song of Songs 2:10 - "Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me."

He wants to take us to the heights, to a private place at the top of the mountain where He can see our faces and hear our voices.

Song of Songs 2:14 - My dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.

You don't have to have the face of a super-model or the voice of an angel.  He made you just the way you are and He thinks you are beautiful.  He tells us over and over again that He created us just the way we are for His purposes.  When we are sitting at His feet, gazing into the beauty of His goodness, grace, and love, He is as much in awe of us as we are of Him.

So, throw off those flip flops (because you can't climb a mountain in them).  We are going to hit some rough ground at times in order to get to the mountain top, to that private place.  But oh, when we get there, He is going to fill us with His love as we sit and let Him.  It's going to be worth the climb.  It's going to be worth the blisters.  The pain.  The heartache.  The tattered clothing.  The broken spirit.  It's going to be worth it.  It is going to be worth it.    And do you know what He's going to say to you when you get to that mountain top with Him?  In that hiding place in the cleft of the rock?  With your broken heart, hair a mess, scratches on your hands and face, and your eyes stained with tears?

Song of Songs 4:7 - How beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you.

Let Him tend to you.  Let Him take you away to the mountain top.  If you are feeling like you are in the middle of an up-hill battle - You are on the mountain top and it's probably time to head to that cleft.  Sit in His presence and just let Him love you.  You won't be sorry and you'll never be the same.
