I had every intention of waking up at 4am this morning to watch the Royal Wedding. You see, my dear friends Nikki Pugh and Brandy DeClerck had peeked my curiosity last night. (Great Convo girls, I learned much ;)) But after my curiosity started getting me all set to get up at an ungodly hour for a wedding that takes place across the globe, I was reminded of another Royal Wedding that WILL take place. The one between our Lord and King and His beautiful Bride, the Saints. With all of that in mind I wanted to be able to get just a tiny glimpse of what it might be that wonderful day we are married to our King, our Prince Charming. While, the Royal Wedding that took place a couple hours ago (well still is) is so beautiful the one between God and His Saints will be the most magnificent of all weddings. There will be nothing to compare it to.
I know, y'all are thinkin...here she goes again, comparing something that's happening now with something about God. Well, I can't help it! It's an exciting thought!!
Revelation 19: 9

9 Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”
We commoners here may not have received an invitation to the wedding in England but those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will automatically get their invite, to the biggest most magnificent and beautiful wedding ever!!! Here's the kicker, not only are we invited but (we're the bride)! HAHA!!! Isn't that cool?!
(Ok men, I know that this must be difficult for you to compute...being God's "Bride" and all...to tell you the truth I have no idea how to explain it in men terms. I'm sorry.) But please stick with me on through this men...
Not only that, we'll be married to a Romantic God...Ecclesiastes 3:11 says:
11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Shoot, the sunrises and sunsets are all for us...He paints those beautiful pictures in the sky for our eyes to enjoy. The sunshine, the birds who sing from the treetops, sing only a melody for you. He is so smitten with you that He tries daily to get your attention just to say I LOVE YOU in all the beauty around you. Unfortunately, there is so much going on around us, good and bad that we don't see Him...but are we looking either? Everything He does, He does it for us!!! He has had us in mind from the very beginning and will to the end of time.
In Hosea 2: 19 & 20 He says:
19 And I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy.
20 I will even betroth you to Me in stability and in faithfulness, and you shall know (recognize, be acquainted with, appreciate, give heed to, and cherish) the Lord.
He will betroth me to Him forever! This is what I get out of this...see betroth means:
1. To promise to give in marriage: was betrothed to a member of the royal family.
2. Archaic To promise to marry.
We will never be out of that engagement and honeymoon stage with God. We will never get that 7 year itch so to say. Our marriage to Him will be PERFECT! WOW!!! My husband and I have a great marriage now, but we haven't had the best marriage all 15 years. It's major work to be married. I believe, that marriage to God will not need the work ours needs today. Like I said, it will be perfect!
So as you think of the Royal Wedding and how Kate is getting her "Prince Charming" in William, and your getting all dreamy...lol...remember, your Royal Wedding WILL take place and you'll have an even better wedding than what took place in England this morning. YOU ARE ROYAL!!! All those in Christ are Royal!!!
I know I jumped around a bit when typing this but I'm excited! I'm excited about the most AMAZING wedding of the universe, and the fact that I'm the bride makes it even more exciting! Have a great day and know that you are loved!!!! |
