Praise and Worship Team

"Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs." Psalms 100:2 (NIV)

Here at Joy you can expect to find a passionate, spirit-led time of worship. The worship team is comprised of many years of worship leading experience. Praise and worship is led on Sunday mornings by Terry Niles. Terry has been a member of the worship team for many, many years and has been leading worship for ten plus years. On Sunday's when Terry is away, praise and worship is led by John LeVault. Although John has only been filling in as worship leader for the past year or so he has been an active member of the team for around 8 years. When John is not leading worship it is not unusual to see him playing the piano, bass, guitar, or even the drums.

Currently Rhea Dooley, Sarah Kodavatikanti, Monica Wamsley, and Garrett Wilson provide the backing and occasional lead vocals. When his work schedule permits, Joel Clayton can be found playing lead/rhythm guitar for the team. The newest member of the worship team is Michael Brown on rhythm guitar. The glue that binds all these singers and musicians together is drummer, Tim LeVault. Another valued member of the team is Bruce Wilson on the computer. Bruce is in charge of displaying the words to the songs that are sung during service, as well as recording the pastors messages.

James LeVault is the bassist and music coordinator for the praise and worship team. If you do not see James on stage behind the bass amp there is a good chance you can find him in the sound booth. As music coordinator, James is in charge with ensuring everything is in order for the worship team. This can range from ordering new equipment, installing new equipment, coordinating replacement musicians, setting sound, scheduling practices, etc.

For decades, Joy Assembly has been known for having great times of praise and worship. None of that would be possible without the Lord. At the core, the praise and worship team is filled with very talented musicians that love to praise the Lord and have decided to answer the call and devote the time to bring a joyful song unto the Lord.

"Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power, praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbal, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord." Psalms 150:1-6 (NIV)
